NEW! Squeegee Sharpening Service Pocono Mt. Screen Supply is happy to announce our new squeegee sharpening service! The squeegee is certainly one of the most important tools used in the screen printing process. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most neglected. After investing countless sums of money on equipment, mesh, pre-press preparation, ink and substrate, the low-tech inexpensive squeegee is the primary factor that controls the ink deposit, affects the color and sharpness of the printed image, and ultimately controls the quality of the finished product. The squeegee alone forces the ink into the screen mesh, keeps the mesh in contact with the substrate, adapts the mesh to the shape of the substrate, and removes the excess ink from the mesh. Squeegee manufacturers try to manufacture their blades with as sharp an edge as possible. However, while you may not be able to see it, the edge of the squeegee begins to wear from the very first impression. Eventually, this wear will cause the following conditions: The edge will become rounded, leaving a progressively heavier deposit of ink. The edge may become so highly polished it will tend to skip over the ink rather than spread it. This happens primarily with poster, water-based, or plastisol inks. The edge may become swollen and chip due to aggressive inks. The edge may become uneven due to wear at some spots and not others. The simplest and most cost effective solution to these problems is to sharpen the edge. Let us do the work for you! Pocono Mt. Screen Supply is proud to announce many new screen printing supplies & products for the upcoming year. In our screen making department, we have added to our line of Saati emulsions, including Saati capillary film and high density THIK films. We also now stock two different scoop coaters for more versatile coating procedures.

In our supplies department we are adding such items as paper vellum, PMI tape, exposure unit bulbs, transfer paper and powder, screen brushes, screen racks, and more. Triangle Ink has been such a huge success that we've added many more of their products including a number of special effects inks, as well as many bases and additives.

Along with our AWT screen printing presses, dryers, and drying equipment, we are adding Kodiak machinery - rated as one of the best in the industry. Kodiak was the first company to patent the convex hat printing press, and has now grown to become one of the leading manufacturers of screen printing presses, hat presses, dryers, flash units, exposure units, and much more.

For more economical screen washout systems, we've added the complete line of Blackline Screen Washout Sinks and Recirculating Filter Systems. Prices starting at just over $400. Blackline also manufactures the most unique squeegee rack in the industry, also affordable and made of durable polypropylene.

Pocono Screen now offers a new alternative to direct-to-garment printing. Avoid those costly machines and try the new ChromaBlast system! ChromaBlast works similar to direct-to-garment printing. Using an Epson printer and the special ChromaBlast driver in conjunction with your graphics program, simply print your full color image on the ChromaBlast media and apply with a conventional heat press. From computer to garment in minutes! Unlike direct-to-garment printing, ChromaBlast uses a dye which cross-links with the garment for vibrant colors and long washability. Start up packages begin at $375.

ChromaBlast is a unique patented ink and media combination driven by powerful print software to create the best cotton imaging system available. As heat and pressure are applied to the cotton, a chemical “cross-link” with the cotton occurs. The result is a customized cotton shirt with soft hand, vibrant color and superior washability. ChromaBlast is an affordable system for those looking to enter the digital decorating business, or supplement their high volume capability with additional capabilities and lower volume options for smaller orders. The ChromaBlast system does not require a flatbed printer so the initial cost of entry is substantially lower.

How does ChromaBlast compare to screen printing and transfer paper?
Plastisol, the key component of screen printing does not react with the fibers, but sticks on the surface of the garment, creating a heavy, non-breathable image which can crack and peel. Traditional transfer paper utilizes a thermoplastic which has a result similar to screen printing.

The chemistry behind the ChromaBlast digital imaging system consists of active ingredients that react and cross link to the garment fibers when heat is applied. Because the image and garment fibers bond, ChromaBlast has a softer hand and superior wash fastness.
